Q:If I take Japanese class at OSULA, would it count as a unit?
A:Only for high school program, credits would be granted and transferable to their own high school. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t count as a college unit.
Q: I am not going to LAUSD high school, but is it still good for foreign language credit if I take Japanese class at OSULA?
A:With LAUSD high schools, our program is all right. But Each school district have different regulations & agenda.  Please ask your school counselor if it is fine or not. Instruction hours of our high school Japanese program is 136 hours. It depends on policy of your own high school and school principal or counselor’s opinion. We will provide a course description if you need.
Q:How do I get a high school credit?
A:There is an application form for foreign language credit provided by LAUSD. Before a high school course begins, we will give it to you and ask you to get a signature from your own high school counselor, then submit it to the Japanese program office. At the end of the school year, we will send out student’s grade along with a signed application form to your own high school. LAUSD high school gives you a foreign language credit.
Q:I’ve taken Japanese classes before and lived in Japan for a couple of years. Is there any placement test?
A:Yes. We have a placement test. Please make an appointment in advance. It will take about 1 hour including listening comprehension.
