JFT (Japanese for Teens, ages 14 to 17)

JFT program provides a language program for high school students during the school year and a summer program for local teens who are interested in learning Japanese language and culture. In our high school program Japanese 1AB, 2AB, 3AB students can earn their grades and receive ten credits, which are transferable to their home school at the end of the year if they go to LAUSD high school. There are weekday course (T+Th 4:30-6:30pm) and Saturday course (Saturday 9am-1pm), Both are 9 months long from September through June and have 136 clock hours of instructions. Experience Japanese course is offered in August. It is 2 weeks long with 30 hours of instructions, classes meet every afternoon from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.. This short course is not for high school credit, but it is a great starter for Japanese study.

PVL (Private Lessons for Teens, ages 14 and 17)

Those students who have business, crazy schedules that conflict with regular OSULA class schedules, or who have particular goals may enjoy our private instruction option. The curriculum for private lessons is tailored to each student’s needs. It may be the most efficient and economical way to meet your study objective. You can choose the most convenient hours for lessons during the week or on Saturday mornings. We will find a teacher according to student’s schedule. Lessons are held at school, we do not send our teachers to student’s place.
